On October 30, 2023, President Biden signed an Executive Order related to AI which has been one of the first actions taken by the US government to attempt to address many of the rising concerns about AI and its implications. The order was titled "Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence". It has been criticized for lacking some "teeth" with regard for enforcement, but it does represent some guidelines and strategies that AI companies need to take into account now and going forward.
