Designers of AI models have largely had the greater good in mind when it came to their development. As a result, they haven't always considered the implications of wider spread adoption and safeguards against dangerous use.

This episode from Mark Pesce's - The Next Billion Seconds podcast explores the real situation when a molecular model AI that was very helpful in determining useful chemicals for drug and other discovery, was put into the hands of the "black hats" who quickly demonstrated that it could be used to develop nerve agents.

And this is only one example of many that has many scientists and great minds around the world concerned about more cautious deployment in order to place important safeguards for security.
